Adding an organizational unit

 

Organizational unit is any unit operating within company structure e.g. Center, Localization, Department etc.

In order to add an organizational unit, you need to mark the Root group and then click on the arrow symbol located by the [Add] button. A list with allowing user to define unit or employee will be expanded. User has to click [Add Unit]. A form in which he can enter data of unit will appear.

Mandatory fields:

Name –  in this field user can enter up to 50 characters (letters or digits) used for more detailed description of a unit. It must be unique.

Type-  in this field user can select type of unit e.g. Center.

 

Other fields:

Created On – allows user to define date of unit creation

Deleted On – allows user to define date on which unit will stop existing in company structure. Date selection is not obligatory it can stay undefined

Description – in this field user can enter more detailed description of an object

Cost Account – in order to select account and define unit as cost user has to select button [Assign] which will open a chart of accounts, from which he can select an account which user wants to assign to unit

Symbol of eraser works like Delete or Backspace and deletes selected account.

 

In order to save the form user has to select [Save] from group Unit. Such added unit will appear on tree structure in group Root. Units can be added to other units not only to Root group.

 

Date ‘Deleted on’ of superior unit can’t be earlier than of units subordinate to it

Date ‘Created on’ of superior unit can’t be later than of units subordinate to it

Date ‘Deleted on’ of subordinate unit  can’t be later than of superior unit

Date ‘Created on’ of subordinate unit  can’t be earlier than of superior unit
