Countries
Very often companies cooperate with many partners and customers from different countries. Therefore, in Comarch ALTUM system it is possible to define a list of countries and assign proper states to them, so that upon selecting a given country, an appropriate list of states would be displayed. Such prepared directory facilitates the classification of customers/vendors and their assignment to different groups (see the manual Comarch ALTUM Directories -> Adding customers and vendors group).
The list of countries is available in the Configuration menu under the Countries icon.

The tree with the names of countries is displayed in the left panel, whereas the content of the selected country group is presented in the right panel.
A new country group can be added upon prior selection of a parent group and then clicking [Add Group] in the Groups Tree button group. On the country group form, the group code and name must be provided. It is also possible to translate the provided code and name into other languages.

Information displayed in the list of countries is the following: Country Symbol, Name, Currency, Active.

Below the list of countries, there is also the filter available. It allows the filtering of the countries by the following parameters:
Active – it allows searching for countries which are marked in the system as active
Currency – it allows searching for countries by currency used in those countries
Adding a country
A new country can be added by clicking [Add] in the List button group. Data regarding the added country is provided in a new row that appears on the list.

The data is the following:
Country Symbol – country symbol can be composed of up to 50 characters (letters or digits). It is used for the easy and quick identification of particular countries e.g. for Poland – PL. Symbol value must be unique
Name – country name can be composed of any sequence of characters (letters or digits). It provides broader description of the entered object instance. Name value must be unique
Note: It is not possible to add several countries with the same symbol or name. If attempted, the following message will be displayed: “A country with the name or symbol given exists in the database”.
Currency – currency valid in a given country. The currency is selected from a dropdown list
Active – if checked, given country will be available in the system on the country selection list
Upon completing all the data, the newly defined country must be saved by clicking [Save] in the General button group.
