Units of measure
Units of measure increase clarity of items classification and their full and efficient maintenance. Each item has one default basic unit, in Comarch ALTUM system it’s ‘item’, in which items are stored in a warehouse. Each item can have also simultaneously assigned several auxiliary units for various documents (one unit is assigned to sales invoices, another one – to POR documents). This functionality is very useful because company can buy or sale items which are stored in item but can be bought or sold in trays.
Saved data is then used within the system as a dictionary of units and can be used for quick entering of the data.
List of units can be available in the Configuration menu under Units of Measure.

There are following mandatory fields:
Symbol - in this field user can enter up to 50 characters (letters or digits), used for quick and easy identification of individual units, e.g. shortage of name. It must be unique. It means that it’s impossible to add two or more units with the same symbols. In such situation the system doesn’t allow user to save a unit with already existing symbol by displaying proper message.
