Generating sales quote from sales inquiry on the list of SOI
A sales quote can be generated from a confirmed sales inquiry. If the sales inquiry does not contain any items, then the sales quote will be generated without items. It will only include a description that was provided on the inquiry.
If the inquiry contains some items, they will be transferred to the new document in the same amount.
Sales quotes can be generated from sales inquiries from the level of both the list of sales inquiries (from one or many SOI documents), the list of SOI items (for one or several selected items), and the tab Associated Documents.
In case of generating sales quotes from many sales inquries, the number of generated quotes depends on the number of customers selected on the SOI documents. The items on such quotes are not aggregated, the description, however, is transferred from the first SOI.
There are two methods of generating a sales quote from a sales inquiry on the list of SOI: By Customer’s Price List and On the Basis of Vendor Quotes.
1) Generating of sales quote from sales inquiry on the basis of the customer’s price list
A sales quote is generated from a sales inquiry by selecting a quote on the list or by selecting an item (items) on the list of items and clicking on the button [Generate SQ] with option [By Customer’s Price List] 
. The sales quote will be generated on the basis of the items of the sales inquiry and the prices/values specified for those items will agree with the price lists and promotions applicable to a given customer.
2) Generating of sales quote from sales inquiry on the basis of vendors’ quotes
To generate a sales quote from a sales inquiry on the basis of the vendors’ quotes, mark an appropriate SOI on the list of documents or the SOI items and click on the button [Generate SQ] with option [On the Basis of Vendor Quotes]
. Clicking on that button creates a sales quote on the basis of those items of the sales inquiry to which a quote from our vendors was sent. Moreover, it is possible indicate a criterion according to which the quotes must be selected. Possible criteria are:
The lowest purchase price offered by the vendor
The earliest expected date
Moreover, it is possible to select the method of fixing the price on such sales quote. Possible options are:
Customer’s price list
Mark-up on purchase price
Fixed price – this option is available only when generating of a sales quote from the list of inquiry items

The process of generating a sales quote is described and presented on the picture below.
When generating a SQ from SOI, first the system searches for the items of the purchase inquiries (A) which are associated with each item of the SOI and then for those items of the purchase quotes (B) which are already confirmed, which were not rejected and which expiration and expected dates have not elapsed (C). Next, from among items of the purchase quotes the system selects the one which expected date or purchase price is the most attractive (D). After selecting the item, the system adds it to the sales quote in the same quantity that is specified on the sales inquiry and combines the two items with each other and with the item of the selected purchase quote. The price of the item on such sales quote is determined on the basis of the selected option which is either the customer’s price list or the mark-up on purchase price or the fixed price.
If the system did not find the item of the purchase quote, then an item of SQ is created but it is not combined with any item of the PQ. If the price of the created SQ item must be calculated as mark-up, the mark-up is deducted from the last purchase price.
The same rules of generating SQ from SOI apply to SQ generated from many SOI. If this is the case, the number of generated quotes will depend on the number of customers selected on the indicated inquiries.
